Humphrey McDermott

Lighting Designer

Humphrey started work in the West End at the age of sixteen whilst studying Lighting and Technical Theatre at The City of Westminster College. Since then, he has enjoyed a wide variety of roles, which include Electrician, Lighting Programmer, Production Electrician and Head of Lighting. He has spent the last fifteen years working worldwide as Associate Lighting Designer, Special Effects Consultant and Lighting Designer for Musicals, Plays, Illusion Shows, Royal Weddings, Award Ceremonies, TV Commercials, Corporate Events and Music Festivals.

Humphrey was very proud to be nominated for Best Lighting Design in the BroadwayWorld.com Awards for The Tailor Made Man, and Best Lighting Design in the What's On Stage Awards for Let It Be. 

As well as being the Associate Lighting Designer for The Book of Mormon (West End and European Tour), Humphrey is Senior Lighting Designer for DesignLab Experience (www.designlabexperience.com) collaborating on over 50 large-scale projects. DesignLab Experience specialise in designing high-end bespoke wedding, event and installation experiences throughout the Gulf region. Humphrey was Lead Lighting Consultant for the 2019 Dirayah Season in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
