Crispin Glancy is performing in The Taming of the Shrew at Theatre Royal, Winchester.

Everyone is invited to The Shrew’s Tavern, where new life will be breathed into Shakespeare’s controversial comedy. Come and see a couple hell-bent on confusing and outwitting each other in outrageous style. There will be dancing, singing and a wedding before the play’s surprising conclusion – just in time for last orders. Fortune-hunting Hortensio, rich old Gremio and newly-arrived-in-town Lucentio all wish to court beautiful Bianca, but she cannot marry before her older sister, the shrewish Kate. Petruchio vows to woo Kate both for her dowry and for the challenge of overcoming her fearsome reputation.
