Louie Whitemore - Take Flight

Louie Whitemore is the Costume Designer and Supervisor on Take Flight, produced by the Royal Opera House and being performed in Hull’s Trinity Square on Saturday 16th September 2017.

More than 100 young dancers from four local dance schools have come together with their teachers and Royal Opera House choreographers and dance practitioners to create a work inspired by the power and beauty of birds in flight and the architectural formations and ensemble precision of the corps de ballet in Swan Lake. This project is part of the Royal Opera House’s Learning and Participation programme, which aims to encourage people across the country to discover, question and create through opera and ballet. Their objective is to place creative learning at the centre of every child’s education, attainment and progress, and this partnership with Hull UK City of Culture 2017 has been a key moment in the development of Learning and Participation’s national reach.
