Angharad Lee is an award-winning director who works across disciplines and with a keen interest in the development of the musical theatre sector in Wales. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, her practice spans the breadth of Musical Theatre, Opera and plays. She is a fluent Welsh speaker.
She has worked for organisations such as Welsh National Opera as a staff and freelance director, Sherman Theatre, Arad Goch, RCT Theatres, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru and numerous others directing new works as well as main scale productions. Her expertise is working with large casts and ensembles. Something she adores.
She is the AD of Leeway Productions. Their flagship and ground-breaking production of The Last 5 Years was explored uniquely and poignantly by outstanding musical theatre talent, D/deaf performers and beautiful choreography with integrated BSL by choreographer Mark Smith who is Deaf. The Last 5 Years was listed as one of the top 10 Regional Productions of 2018 by The Stage.
Angharad's practice is diversity confident. Her company has supported over 100 writers and composers in developing their practice and confidence when tackling the wonderful world of creating Musical Theatre. Enticing beatboxers, poets, singer songwriters, hip hop artists, folk groups to collaborate and establish artist led practices across Regions and networks in Welsh, English and BSL.

She is also the acting coach for the BA Musical Theatre course at University of Wales Trinity St David’s. The 1st Undergraduate Musical Theatre course in Wales.
She is an Associate Artist with Arts Council Wales as well as being a Creative Agent and has a deep rooted passion for creative learning and embedding creative practices within communities.
