Music Supervisor, Musical Director and Orchestrator

David Hayes is a Music Supervisor, Musical Director and Orchestrator. He was at the Royal Irish Academy of Music for over 18 years and spent 3 years with Riverdance - The Show as Musical Director and subsequently Production Director, with responsibility for all three touring productions worldwide. David has orchestrated ten original musical dramas – the latest being Find Your Way Home (Symphony Hall, NYC) Angela’s Ashes (Ireland & UK Tour), and 1588 A Musical Drama. He was Musical Director and Supervisor for all five series of RTE’s The Voice and has worked with BBC NI, UTV and TG4, including several joint OB broadcasts for BBC/TG4 and played, orchestrated and conducted the RTECO and also played with the NSO. Recent work as a Musical Director includes West Side Story in Concert (BGET, Dublin), Angela’s Ashes (National Tour), Fun Home (Gate Theatre, Dublin), Sondheim Festival (Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny), The Borrowers (Gate Theatre, Dublin), Little Shop of Horrors (BGET, Dublin), Ibiza Orchestral (3 Arena, Dublin), Queen Orchestral (3 Arena, Dublin), and Bloomberg Philanthropies – TCA Awards (Dublin). Additional collaborations include performances with Liz Callaway, Fra Fee, and Rachel Tucker. In March 2026, he will be orchestrator, MD and conductor for the Leading Voices of Musical Theatre tour of China.
