Musical Director

Denise is a Musical Director from Cork, Ireland, currently based in London. In 2018, she graduated from the MTU Cork School of Music with a first class honours Masters degree in piano performance and conducting. Since then she has worked on numerous productions in Ireland and abroad in the positions of both Musical Director and Assistant Musical Director.

Denise was recently Assistant Musical Director on Grease (Dominion Theatre) and part of the music team on Rocky Horror 50th Anniversary Tour.

Further credits as Assistant Musical Director include Waitress (UK and Ireland Tour) and Angela's Ashes (UK and Ireland Tour). She currently deps on Jersey Boys, both in the West End and on the UK Tour (Keys 1). Denise was also Musical Director on the 2022 Cork Opera House Panto.

Denise is the rehearsal pianist and cover conductor on Opus Pocus, working closely with the BBC orchestras and Greg Arrowsmith to bring classical music to children around the UK in a fun and accessible setting. While in Ireland, she also worked as the resident Keys 2 player for the RTE Concert Orchestra from 2018 through to 2021.

As an accompanist and coach Denise has worked in many of Ireland’s leading Performing Art Schools including Montforts College of Performing Arts and Ireland’s first Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre course in MTU.

Denise’s love of theatre grew from her many years work as a repetiteur and vocal coach. Denise has worked on numerous productions with a number of companies throughout Europe including Cenerentola (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar) Carmen, Die Fledermaus (FIO Italia) Cosi fan tutte (Lismore Opera Festival) and Faust, La Traviatta, La Boheme, Pagliacci, H.M.S. Pinafore and The Marriage of Figaro (Cork Operatic Society).
