Dewi Johnson is a Theatre and Opera Director. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Foppish Theatre. His directing credits include Playhouse Creatures (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire), Immaculate/Suckers/Arranged Nikah (Birmingham Rep, Sky Comedy), Nell Gwynn (Crescent Theatre), The Fop Reformed (Platform Theatre), Loveplay (DCL), In Praise of Folly (Platform Theatre & Crescent Theatre), The Will (Cockpit Theatre) & Away From Home (Birmingham Fest). As an Associate/Assistant Director his credits include Dr Strangelove (Noel Coward Theatre, Bord Gais Theatre), The Crown Jewels (Garrick Theatre/UK Tour), Linck & Mülhahn (Hampstead Theatre), The Upstart Crow (Apollo Theatre), Three Sat Under the Banyan Tree (Tara Arts/UK Tour) and Purcell's King Arthur (Dartington International Festival). Dewi completed the ‘Stage One Director’s Placement’ at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, working on the staff director team for the 2017 revival of ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’.
