Katy Richardson

Musical Director

Katy is currently the UK musical supervisor for SIX the musical, and the musical supervisor for Lizzie at the Hope Mill Theatre. She was also recently musical supervisor on Bonnie & Clyde at the Garrick Theatre and will continue in the role as it heads on its UK Tour in 2024.

Katy graduated from the University of Leeds in 2014 with a First in Music before training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

Katy was the founder and co-creator of the Musical Director Mentorship Scheme.

Awards:

Katy was nominated for Best Musical Direction or Supervision at the 2022 What’s On Stage Awards for her work on RENT at the Hope Mill Theatre, with RENT winning best Regional Production.

SIX won two 2022 Tony Awards including Best Original Score, and received five 2019 Olivier Award Nominations including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music. SIX was also awarded ‘Best West End Musical’ at the 2020 What’s On Stage Awards and ‘Best Off-West End Production’ at the 2019 What’s On Stage Awards.
