Musical Director, Pianist & Arranger

Maddy Lygo is a Musical Director, Pianist and Arranger based in London. She began playing piano at the age of 5 and completed her grades while in school, where she first played in a pit and discovered her love of Musical Theatre. She trained as an Actor at London South Bank University from 2021-24, where she also brought music into a number of productions, including Tales from Ovid (Musical Director & Composer); The Heart (Musical Director); The Welkin (Musical Director & Arranger) at the Edric Theatre and SPENT (Musical Director & Composer) at the Rose Theatre.

Credits include: Assistant Musical Director on SIX! The Musical (UK & International Tour). Deputy Musical Director on SIX! The Musical (West End); Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula The Sea Witch (The Other Palace & Salford Lowry). Work as Musical Director include It’s A Wonderful Knife: Christmas Dundee (The Old Joint Stock Theatre); Pinocchio (The Old Joint Stock Theatre).

Maddy is also an avid voice practitioner, with an EFP qualification from Estill Voice and a comprehensive knowledge of vocal anatomy and function. She teaches singing across London in addition to mentoring budding MDs alongside her theatre work.
