Sara De Sanctis
Musical Director
Sara De Sanctis is a musical director, conductor, pianist, and singer/songwriter. She began playing piano at the age of four and trained for ten years at the Conservatoire in Italy, later studying composition and jazz piano at the University of Bristol and conducting, composition, and audio for visual media at the Eastman School of Music in the United States. She went on to complete conducting training at the London Conducting Academy and a Master’s in Musical Direction at Mountview Academy of Arts. As a musical director and pianist, Sara has worked in professional and educational theatre. She performed as Keys I in Just So and as Keys II in Sunday in the Park with George with Sedos. At Mountview, she worked as Assistant Musical Director and Keys I for Into the Woods, A Little Night Music, and the third-year musical theatre showreel, in addition to performing as Keys I in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She also directed a postgraduate project, leading rehearsals and ensemble performance, and worked extensively as both a rehearsal pianist and an audition pianist, supporting performers in preparation for productions, showcases, and assessments. Beyond theatre, Sara is Deputy Conductor of the Community Orchestra in Fleet and has led the Guildford Stoughton Hearts and Voices Choir, conducting a wide range of repertoire for concerts and community events. Alongside her directing and conducting work, she is active as a composer and performer, with original music featured on BBC Introducing and awarded in national competitions in Italy.
