Shane Cullinan
Composer
Shane Cullinan is a composer of music for television, film and theatre. He specialises in fusing orchestral music with contemporary pop influences. His work has been featured on a diverse array of mediums, from Channel 4 to the Royal Opera House. Shane won the Overplay Songwriting Award for The Magdalens, and the International Songwriters Award for The Magpie.
His orchestral drama, The Pieta, was performed at both St. James Piccadilly and the Royal Northern College of Music with actor Frances Barber and the Stamford Orchestra (Hallé and BBC Symphony); the work was shortlisted for the British Composer Awards. Shane has recently completed a new commission for world-renowned harpist, Catrin Finch.
Shane is also the founder and writer for the orchestral collective ‘Tonic Fold’, commercially releasing five studio albums, most recently The Violent Language of Portraits – a collaboration with British soul singer David McAlmont.
