Rosalind Ford - Daddy Long Legs

Rosalind Ford is delighted to be returning to The Barn Theatre, Cirencester, with Daddy Long Legs.

The Autumn season opens with the theatre’s first stage musical for 2019, Daddy Long Legs. The show is based on the classic novel by John Caird, with music and lyrics by Paul Gordon that inspired the 1955 movie starring Fred Astaire. The show is set in turn-of-the-century New England which tells the story of orphan Jerusha Abbott and her mysterious benefactor who agrees to send her to college, who she dubs “Daddy Long Legs” after seeing his elongated shadow.

The tale of two lives colliding unfolds through Jerusha’s letters addressing her Daddy Long Legs that work as an insight into her innermost thoughts of the world.

Daddy Long Legs is an uplifting piece of theatre that questions identity whilst highlighting the importance of education, imagination and love. With a score of stunning musical numbers that are sure to set your heart soaring, Daddy Long Legs is not a show to miss out on!
